                                    CHALCOPYRITE, SPHALERITE and QUARTZ
                                                Huanzala Mine, Huallanca District, 
                                    Dos de Mayo Province, Huanuco Department, Peru

A rather large, single crystal of Chalcopyrite, measuring 0.84 x 0.5 x 0.5", extends off the top of this combination specimen measuring 2 x 1.25 x 1.25" overall. Other Chalcopyrites are present and all exhibit a bright, golden color with some faces muted by the presence of a tiny, dark black unknown crystals that have attached themselves to the Chalcopyrites. Jet black Sphalerite is also present along with transparent Quartz crystals. Not every Quartz crystal is complete, but the overall combination of the 3 make this an interesting specimen.

                            CHALCOPYRITE with QUARTZ and SPHALERITE
            Osikovo Orebody, Deveti Septemvri Complex, Madan District, Bulgaria

On a specimen measuring 2.75 x 1.75 x 1.75", the entire front face of the specimen is covered with a combination of bright, lustrous, golden Chalcopyrites, with jet black Sphalerites and transparent Quartz crystals. Under a loop, the Quartz crystals are massed together at the base of each cluster and the Chalcopyrites are lightly striated.
