SIDERITE after CALCITE
Oasului Mountains, Maramures, Romania

A cabinet sized specimen of dark tan colored Siderite which formed over a long ago removed Calcite. The fact that these are now shells is evident on the sides and back of the specimen. In addition, the bottom image not only shows the Pyrite and Sphalerite that is also present on the back of the specimen, you can additionally see that tiny, white Calcite crystals have formed inside the shells of Siderite. The entire front face of the specimen is in good condition and is covered in small, highly iridescent Siderite crystals.

The specimen measures 16.2 x 13.5 x 6.5 cm.

AZURITE
Jiangxi Prov., China 

Long, thin, dark blue blades of Azurite extend almost the entire front face of this 2 x 1½ x ¾" specimen which also has a spot of Malachite at the bottom.

All of the following specimen is HEMIMORPHITE 
from the Wenshan Mine, Yunnan Prov, China. All of the Hemimorphite is quite lustrous and comes in various shades of turquoise. These pieces were selected from a group that was put in storage some time ago and recently made available.

Thin, natural slice of Hemimorphite with various shades of turquoise present on this front face. The line on the right side of the specimen is not a crack but an elevated plate of the Hemimorphite farther to the right.

Bright white, iridescent and striated Selenite takes on this curved shape in this
1¾ x 1 x 1" specimen that is glued to a clear plastic base.

AZURITE with MALACHITE
Blue Grotto Prospect La Sal, San Juan Co.,UT
 

3 very deep royal blue spheres of Azurite dominate this 1.25 x 0.75 x 1 " specimen. The largest sphere, located at the top of the specimen in the image above,  measures 0.75 x 0.75 x 0.75 " and is complete and in great shape. Properly orientated, all three spheres are can be seen.  Not to be redundant, but the blue is highly lustrous and the deepest blue you would associate with Azurite.
