Early in the 09 Tucson show, I happened upon Powellite from the Jalgoan District, Maharastra, India. The Powellite crystals all are off-white/light grey color with a naturally rough texture to the sides of the crystals. Some of the crystals have smooth sides toward the top of the crystals. Those on matrix are attached to Stilbite,
which is a light peach color. Although there is not a striking color contrast between the Powellite and the Stilbite, the fluorescence of the Powellite is quite impressive. All of the Powellite crystals fluoresce a very bright, white-yellow. So bright in fact, that they fluoresce quite well in natural, room light. Each crystal fluoresces with the same intensity
and all of the crystals on matrix are in very good condition. The loose crystals have an obvious contact area on the bottom.
